Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipsticks Review

We realized that we're always comparing products to Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipsticks, but never actually shared a review for them! So here it goes. I personally consider these one of the best. The formula is spot on, and doesn't dry too fast or too slow. It leaves me with just enough time to apply it evenly, and fix my mistakes. Some other similar products dry too fast for me, which consequently makes you end up with weird layers of liquid lipstick that feel thick and cakey (I'm looking at you Velvetines!). I haven't had that happen with these. I also feel like the wand comes out of the tube with the perfect amount of product on it. With the amount of product combined with how bold and pigmented they are, you really shouldn't have to double dip your wand for more. I also believe that you get more product in these tubes than some similar products on the market. These liquid lipsticks don't have any funky or overpowering scents, which I think we all could get on board with. All in all, there's a reason we keep comparing other products to these. They're amazing! They are $20 a piece which can be a little steep, but I think they're worth it. We will continue to share color comparisons next to these, but just know that not everything that is a dupe for the color is a dupe in terms of quality (not all the time, sometimes the cheaper items can be BETTER than the original, and that's what we strive to find!). On another note, we don't get paid to share our reviews, we just genuinely enjoy this product. What do you think of these?!

Score card:

The packaging is beautiful and high quality, and the tubes come boxed which is nice. However, the gold decal starts to wear off after a while.
I don't detect a strong scent from these. If anything, they smell slightly paint like.
These feel very nice and smooth upon application. They take a few minutes to dry which leaves room for error, and most of the colors apply evenly (with the exception of lighter shades).
Incredibly pigmented.
I feel no discomfort when wearing these, but they are not my absolute favorite formula as I do have liquid lipsticks from other brands that feel more velvety and slightly less tacky.
These are incredibly long lasting as they are liquid lipsticks. Upon wearing, they only tend to fade away in the inner areas of your lips. Avoid greasy meals when wearing!
Dupability (Originality)
I rate these somewhere in the middle as they were one of the first brands to launch an entire line of liquid lipsticks, but liquid lipsticks are also a trend being done by most brands. If anything, it seems like more and more brands are attempting to recreate these shades.

Overall Score: 3.7

  1. Yes these are totally the crème de la crème of liquid lipsticks. I bought lovely, retro coral, baby pink, and pure Hollywood. Obsessed with them. I think I'm going to get persimmon and Heather's next.

    1. Thanks for your feedback! We totally agree with you. "Persimmon" and "Heathers" are gorgeous shades and I'm sure you'll love them!

  2. I would love to see swatches of all of the colors. Thank you!

    1. Thank you for your feedback! We've added swatches of all of the colors to the post above. We're working on swatching the newest shades "Unicorn" and "Craft" and will add them as soon as possible. I hope this helps!

  3. Hello! A lot of people have been discussing the quality of the formulas; some have complained about excessive dryness, peeling, white rings and flat out flakiness. Do you have any experiences of this and with which colours? Any help regarding these would be great considering they aren't the cheapest of liquid lipsticks. Thank you and awesome post by the way :)
