Wet n' Wild Mega Last Liquid Lipstick Review

Finally a drugstore brand other than NYX Cosmetics has jumped on the liquid to matte bandwagon! Wet n' Wild has a variety of colors available for $2.89 each. We swatched all of the non pearly shades here. Actually way more pigmented and less streaky than NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams but WAY more drying. A little bit goes a long way and if you apply it too thick it won't dry matte very quickly (it does dry to a really odd texture and is almost impossible to get off. It feels tacky like how rubber cement feels, and has almost the same kind of sheen. Not sure if you're into that kind of thing or not!). What do you think about Wet n' Wild's liquid to matte lip color? Will you try them?

Packaging
5
The packaging is super cute for a drugstore product!
Scent
These are a little stinky in the sense that they have a slightly chemical smell that was maybe tried to mask with a sweet smell.
Application
These apply okay as long as you don't apply too much. You cannot apply layers or go over your first application, as it will thicken and tug.
Pigmentation
No issues with pigmentation. The finish is very matte, but turns out a little shiny when it dries.
Comfort
Personally, I don't find these to be comfortable at all. They are very drying and thick and have a texture reminiscent of rubber cement.
Longevity
These do last forever, and are incredibly hard to get off.
Dupability (Originality)
The range of shades was pretty disappointing.

Overall Score: 3.3

  1. Have you compared high pitched wine to cashmere? This photo makes them look similar, but I could be way off.

    1. Hey there, thank you for your inquiry! "High Pitched Wine" is definitely similar to Kat Von D's "Lolita" but is a little to mauve to match Lime Crime "Cashmere." I hope this helps!

  2. I had three of these and all three went into the trash. They were beautiful colors, just extremely difficult to work with.

    1. Thank you for your feedback, we love to hear additional thoughts on the products we try and review! The colors definitely are beautiful but I'd have to agree that the tackiness makes them difficult to work with.

  3. Can you recommend a matte lippie that is not drying and has same price points as these? Thanks! Love your website!
