NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams Review

So we really like NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams but they can be difficult to shop at the store because you can't test them! So here's a quick guide! We have almost all (We'll update for you when we finally have the whole set). These are a budget product that we really like. they smell like butterscotch and it's kind of strong so I'd say make sure you can stand the smell before you go buy all of them, haha. They feel awesome and creamy but never dry to a COMPLETELY matte finish. This is what makes them such a unique "liquid to matte" product. Some people will love them, and some won't!

Packaging
4.5
Love the packaging and how it matches the color inside. Don't love that they are the same as the Intense Butter Glosses which makes it hard to tell them apart.
Scent
 5
Delicious butterscotch.
Application
3.5
These apply so super soft- but slightly patchy. These never fully dry down to a transfer-proof finish so it makes it difficult to apply several layers to reach a non-streaky full opacity.
Pigmentation
I wish these were a little more pigmented so they didn't dry slightly patchy.
Comfort
Absolutely no problems with comfort! They are incredibly soft and velvety.
Longevity
Definitely not the most long-lasting liquid to matte lipstick out there. These never fully dry down to a transfer-proof finish, which makes them wipe off easily.
Dupability (Originality)
Great range of colors. Once again, NYX does an awesome job with their line of products!

Overall Score: 4.3

  1. These are $6 each (plus $5 shipping) on the US site and £6.50 each (plus £5 shipping) on the UK site. That means we pay just over $17 for a single SMLC compared to $11 for US residents :(

  2. I have this in Abu Dhabi and was not thrilled with it - the color is perfect but I find the product to be too streaky and thin. It dries to matte on me but gathers in the natural wrinkles in my lips making them look lined.
I wonder if we could maybe find a dupe?

  3. Would you be willing to compare the NXY soft matte lip cream colors to Sephora creme lip stain collection?
